Ocean LX · Sunset Dreams RX · Free download The free LUT pack
Two looks from the Cine.Lux collection, free. Ocean LX and Sunset Dreams RX, each in a version for Rec.709 footage and one for RED log. Graded on RED footage and built to hold up across a whole timeline, not just a still.
Before and after comparisons
Ocean LX
The last hour, held gently. Ocean LX warms the highlights and lets the shadows breathe, keeps the blue honest in the sky and the water, and leaves skin looking like skin. Soft roll-off, low contrast, the light going long across the palms while everything slows down.
Sunset Dreams RX
The glow, turned up. Sunset Dreams RX pushes the golds and the greens, deepens the contrast, and leans the whole frame into the sun. Palms that catch fire, a sky that keeps its blue, warmth that sits on the skin. Those fifteen minutes before the sun drops, when the road home looks like the reason you came.
Three steps, no plugins
- 01
Drop the four .cube files into your LUT folder
In DaVinci Resolve go to Project Settings, then Color Management, and click Open LUT Folder. Copy the files in and click Update Lists.
- 02
Pick the file that matches your footage
Already in Rec.709? Use the Rec709 file. Shooting RED in Log3G10? Use the RED file and skip the Color Space Transform, it's built in.
- 03
Apply the look on the last node
Right-click the node, choose the LUT, then pull exposure and white balance on the nodes before it. The look holds from there.
